Wrigley Field construction update: November 7

Digging in the corners, new upper-deck seating, and the Addison & Sheffield work.

I hadn’t been to Wrigley Field in a week, and much has changed over that time. The work in both the right- and left-field corners includes large holes being dug in the sidewalks on Sheffield and Waveland, respectively. This would imply some sort of base is going into the concrete at those locations.

There is actually an event going on at Wrigley Field, despite all the construction. Sponsored by Jim Beam (you can see some words for this event placed on the scoreboard in photo 27), it’s called the Bourbon Legends Boxcar Tour, and unfortunately, as you can see at the link, registration is closed for the event. (Besides, it’s going to be pretty cold out there tonight!)

In photo 5, you can see some seats have been removed in rows 9 and 10 of the 400 level near section 430 to put in ADA accessible seating. I heard from a BCB reader who is a season-ticket holder in that area and he told me that the Cubs are “working with us to find suitable replacement locations.” The same thing appears to be happening on the left-field …Read the Rest
