Emilio Bonifacio scored the only run the White Sox needed on pinch-hitter J.B. Shuck’s sac fly in the eighth for a 1-0 Interleague victory Friday over the Cubs. Hector Rondon hit Bonifacio with a pitch to open the eighth, and he then stole second and moved up on Adam Eaton’s sacrifice before scoring.
Kyle Hendricks extended his scoreless inning streak to a career-high 22 1/3 innings with seven scoreless on Friday. He did not get a decision, but heads into the All-Star break on a nice roll. The key? Hendricks said he’s just keeping it simple.
