Cubs sweep! Cubs sweep!
Zach Hedges started had his best appearance in Triple-A all season and it came in Colorado Springs. Go figure. (He allowed six runs in 1.2 innings of relief in CS this past Wednesday.) Hedges allowed two runs on four hits over five innings. One of those hits was a solo home run to former Cub Andres Blanco. Hedges struck out three and did not walk anyone.
Brad Markey pitched the bottom of the ninth and got the win when Iowa scored four in the top of the tenth. Markey gave up a two-out infield single, but nothing else. Markey struck out one batter.
Right fielder Bijan Rademacher entered the game as part of a double-switch in the fifth inning and went home the hero. Rademacher had a two-run double in the top of the ninth to send the game to extras and a two-run single in the tenth. Rademacher was 2 for 3 with a double and four RBI.
Third baseman Chesny Young was 2 for 5. He scored twice and had one run batted in.
