Not much offense outside of Eugene, but the Ems put on a show in Everett.

Iowa Cubs

The Iowa Cubs were shut out by the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Marlins), 1-0.

Starter Luke Farrell gave up a run in the second inning and neither team scored again. Farrell allowed one run on four hits over five innings. Farrell walked three and struck out four.

Iowa had three hits tonight. Two of them were in the top of the ninth, but Jacob Hannemann and Chris Gimenez couldn’t get Ryan Court home from third with the tying run. Court was 1 for 3 with a walk.

Tennessee Smokies

The Tennessee Smokies were shut out by the Biloxi Shuckers (Brewers), 5-0.

Thomas Hatch started and surrendered four runs in the first inning. He didn’t let anyone else score for the rest of his six inning start, but that was enough tonight for the loss. Hatch gave up seven hits. He struck out six and walked no one.

Left fielder Wynton Bernard was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Center fielder Connor Myers went 2 for 4.
