Everyone but Iowa won, and they lost twice.
The Pelicans had their “Deaf Awareness” game today and it looked like a big success from the internet broadcast. As you can see above, all the lettering on the Pelicans uniforms were spelled out in American Sign Language. Curtis Pride was also there at the game and was interviewed during the broadcast.
We’ve already done a story about what happened in South Bend with Yu Darvish, so I won’t say much about that. I will say, for the record, that I believe Yu Darvish will pitch again for the Cubs, although not this season.
Jen-Ho Tseng started game one and gave up four runs on five hits over six innings. He did strike out seven batters and he didn’t walk any, although he did hit two batters.
Right fielder Mark Zagunis was 2 for 3 with a double.
This game was a makeup of a game rained out in Des Moines in April, so the Cubs batted last even though the game was played in Oklahoma City.
