Jeimer Candelario and Ian Happ both homered for the second straight game to lead Iowa to a 10–9 win over Oklahoma City. Aaron Brooks gave up four runs over five innings and got the win. Candelario has five RBI in each of his last two games. Happ hit a two-run homer. John Andreoli had three hits, including a triple, and stole a base.
Trevor Clifton gave up two runs on two hits and one walk over five innings in Tennessee’s 9–2 win over Pensacola. Andrew Ely had two hits and two RBI. Clifton helped himself, hitting a RBI single.
Myrtle Beach lost, 6–1, to Lynchburg. Justin Steele gave up one earned run over four innings. Tyler Pearson hit a solo homer.
Dylan Cease gave up one run on three hits and three walks over four innings in South Bend’s 2–0 loss to West Michigan. Cease struck out eight. It’s the fifth time he’s fanned at least seven.
